Pharmaron Celebrates Women in Science Day 2025 – Leading Innovation and Role Models
Pharmaron proudly celebrated the International Day of Women and Girls in Science by highlighting the remarkable contributions of its female scientists across China, the UK, and the US. Established by the United Nations, the day aims to promote and highlight the participation of women and girls in science, as well as address gender inequality in STEM fields.
Throughout the week, we shared stories from Pharmaron’s teams across the globe, showcasing the outstanding scientists who drive innovation and excellence in the life sciences.
This year’s celebration focused not only on visibility but also on the impact and leadership of women at Pharmaron. Women currently make up 54% of Pharmaron’s overall workforce, hold 45% of managerial positions, and represent 55% of all STEM roles—figures that speak to Pharmaron’s ongoing commitment to inclusion and empowerment in the scientific community.
By celebrating Women in Science Day, Pharmaron continues to foster an environment that encourages and exemplifies women in scientific communities and remains dedicated to championing the next generation of female leaders in science.
“My curiosity about the principles of physiology sparked my interest in pursuing a career in science. At Pharmaron, I have the opportunity to apply my scientific knowledge in the development and testing of new drugs. It’s rewarding to contribute to improving healthcare while continuously learning and staying inspired throughout the process.”
said Laxmi Sunuwar, Associate Bioanalytical Scientist at Pharmaron’s Germantown site.
About the International Day of Women in Science
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science, observed on 11 February, is a United Nations–designated day dedicated to championing the full and equal participation of women and girls in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Established by UN General Assembly Resolution 70/212 in December 2015, it’s led by UNESCO and UN Women, along with partners worldwide. The day shines a spotlight on the critical role of women and girls in scientific progress and calls for the removal of persistent barriers to their education, careers, and leadership in STEM fields.
